TG DOST 2026
TG DOST (Telangana Degree Online Services Telangana) is the official centralized online admission platform created and managed by the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education (CCE), Government of Telangana for all undergraduate degree admissions (BA, BCom, BSc, BBA, BCA, BVoc, etc.) in government, aided, and private degree colleges across the state.
The full official name of the 2026 cycle is TG DOST 2026 (or sometimes written as DOST 2026 in short form). It is not an entrance exam — it is a purely merit-based, single-window online admission system that eliminates the need for students to visit multiple colleges or submit multiple application forms.
1. What TG DOST Actually Is (Purpose & Scope)
TG DOST is Telangana’s version of a common admission portal for conventional undergraduate degree courses (3 years / 4 years under NEP 2020 framework). It covers:
- All government degree colleges
- All government-aided degree colleges
- Almost all private unaided degree colleges that accept general merit admissions
- Autonomous colleges (limited participation in some cases)
- Minority colleges (Christian / Muslim minority institutions also participate with separate minority quota seats)
Courses covered under TG DOST 2026 (expected same as 2025):
- B.A. (all combinations – History, Economics, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Psychology, Journalism, etc.)
- B.Com (General, Computer Applications, Corporate Secretaryship, Honours, etc.)
- B.Sc. (all combinations – MPC, BZC, MECs, MSCs, Data Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology, etc.)
- BBA / BBA (Aviation) / BBA (Logistics)
- BCA
- B.Voc (various skill-based programs)
- BSW (Bachelor of Social Work)
- Other interdisciplinary / emerging programs under NEP
Important exclusions (these have separate admission processes):
- B.Tech / B.E. → TG EAPCET + TG EAPCET counselling
- B.Pharm → TG EAPCET
- Law (LLB / BA LLB) → TS LAWCET
- Agriculture / Veterinary → separate state counselling
- Fine Arts / Performing Arts → separate aptitude tests
- Medical / Dental → NEET UG
- Some deemed/private universities → their own entrance or direct admission
TG DOST is therefore the single largest admission window for conventional UG degree seats in Telangana — usually handling 4.5–5.5 lakh seats across 800–1000+ affiliated degree colleges.

3. How TG DOST Works – Step-by-Step Admission Process (2026 Expected Flow)
Phase 0 – Pre-Registration Preparation (April–May 2026) Students should have:
- Aadhaar number
- Active mobile number & email
- Scanned copies of: 10th marks memo, Inter marks memo (or hall ticket if result awaited), caste certificate (if applicable), income certificate, bonafide, transfer certificate, etc.
- Bank account details (for fee refund if needed)
1 – Online Registration & Payment
- Visit dost.cgg.gov.in
- Click “New Student Registration”
- Enter Inter hall ticket number + year of passing + date of birth
- OTP verification on registered mobile
- Fill personal, academic, reservation, special category details
- Pay registration fee online (≈ ₹200–400 for general; lower for reserved categories)
- Generate DOST ID (unique application number)
2 – College & Course Preference Submission
- Login with DOST ID & password
- Select preferred colleges & courses (maximum 10–20 choices depending on year)
- Lock choices before deadline
- Option to edit choices multiple times before final locking
3 – Phase-I Seat Allotment
- Algorithm runs based on:
- Normalized Inter marks (out of 1000)
- Reservation category
- Special quota (NCC, Sports, Ex-servicemen, PH, CAP, Anglo-Indian, etc.)
- Local / non-local status
- Gender reservation (in some courses)
- Seat allotment result published → candidate sees allotted college + course
- Two options: a) Self-report (accept seat online & pay tuition fee online) b) Not satisfied → wait for next phase (float option)
Phase 4–6 – Subsequent Rounds
- Spot admissions / leftover seats counselling (if seats remain vacant)
- Physical reporting at allotted college (document verification & fee payment balance)
4. Normalization & Rank Preparation
Telangana follows a normalized percentage system (similar to TNEA in Tamil Nadu) to make marks comparable across different boards (TSBIE, CBSE, ICSE, NIOS, etc.).
Basic formula (used in recent years): Normalized percentage = (Student’s aggregate % / Highest aggregate % in that group & board) × 1000 → Converted to 1000 marks scale
Groups considered for normalization:
- BIPC (Biology group)
- MPC (Maths group)
- Commerce group
- Arts group
Rank is generated purely on this normalized score + reservation benefits.
5. Reservation & Quota System (Expected 2026 – Same as 2025)
- Vertical reservation (Telangana state norms):
- SC – 15%
- ST – 6%
- BC-A – 7%
- BC-B – 10%
- BC-C – 1%
- BC-D – 7%
- BC-E – 4%
- EWS – 10%
- OC – balance
- Horizontal reservation:
- Women – 33% in each category
- NCC – 1%
- Sports – 0.5–1%
- DifferentlyAbled (PH) – 3–5%
- Children of Armed Forces Personnel (CAP) – 2%
- Anglo-Indian – 0.5%
- Local / Non-local quota (as per presidential order)
