The MHT CET 2026 (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell), Maharashtra for admission to first-year undergraduate professional courses in Engineering & Technology (B.Tech/B.E.), Pharmacy (B.Pharm), Pharm.D, Agriculture, and Planning (B.Planning) in government, aided, and private institutions across Maharashtra.

As of today (February 23, 2026), registration is ongoing with an extended deadline. The exam is scheduled in two attempts/sessions for the first time (allowing candidates to improve scores; best attempt counts). The exam is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) with no negative marking.

  • Registration Start: January 10, 2026 (or around January 9–11 based on notices).
  • Registration Last Date (without late fee): Extended to February 24, 2026.
  • Registration with Late Fee (₹500 extra): February 25–27, 2026.
  • Application Correction Window: Likely after registration closes (to be notified).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Indian citizen (or OCI/PIO for some seats).
  • Qualifying Exam: Passed/appearing in HSC (10+2) or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics + Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject.
  • Minimum Marks: 45% aggregate in PCM/PCB (40% for reserved categories in Maharashtra).
  • Age Limit: No upper age limit.
  • Domicile: Maharashtra domicile for state quota; open seats available.
  • Candidates can appear for PCM (Engineering/Planning) or PCB (Pharmacy/Agriculture) or both.

Exam Pattern

  • Mode: Online CBT.
  • Duration: 180 minutes (3 hours) per group.
  • Papers:
    • PCM Group: Physics + Chemistry + Mathematics (100 questions total; 50 Physics/Chemistry, 50 Maths).
    • PCB Group: Physics + Chemistry + Biology (100 questions total; 50 each).
  • Marking: +1 or +2 per correct (varies; total 200 marks per group); no negative marking.
  • Weightage: 80% from Class 12 syllabus + 20% from Class 11 (Maharashtra State Board curriculum).
  • Language: English / Marathi / Urdu for Physics, Chemistry, Biology (English only for Maths).

  • Fee (non-refundable):
    • General: ₹800–1,000 (PCM or PCB); higher for both groups.
    • Reserved (SC/ST/OBC/EWS): ₹600–800.
    • Late fee: ₹500 extra.
  • Payment: Online (net banking/card/UPI).
  • Steps:

    2. Register with mobile/email (OTP verification).
    3. Fill form: Personal/academic details, group choice (PCM/PCB/both), exam attempt preference.
